A Guide to Your Professional Headshot Session
Are you looking for a new job? Are you trying to give your business a boost? Then you need a new professional headshot! But of course, you’ve already decided this(because you’re smart) and now you want to know what to expect at your professional headshot session with Theresa Glenn Photography(who you’ve hired – again, we said you were smart).
Before your session, we will discuss where and how you would like to display your headshot. Not all headshots are the same! Whether it’s for a website, a business card, or your LinkedIn profile – this will determine the look and backdrop for your headshot. It’s important to have a clean look, so white and grey are the most common. However, everyone is different; I shoot to suit you!
I want you to bring lots of clothing options! Even if we don’t use all of them, it’s smart to have a backup in case a color doesn’t work with the backdrop. Stay away from stark white, unless under a jacket, cardigan, or sweater. Jewelry should add to an outfit, not detract from it. Avoid short sleeves – bare arms usually take away from an executive headshot. Bring a variety of dress shirts, suits, and professional blouses.
We will also talk about what side of your face you feel most comfortable with. If you don’t have one(or are not sure), I will pose you in different positions so you’ll have numerous options from which to choose.
Following your professional headshot session you will receive a link to my proofing site, for you to choose your images. If you purchased a package with digital images, just give me the image number and I will email you your choices. If not, you will be able to purchase the pictures from the proofing site directly and download them right to your computer.
