A proper LinkedIn profile picture is an asset every aspiring young professional should have. This past December I participated in a fun, free program that helped college students get a professional headshot right as they enter the workforce. Check out some of the results below!
Think of your LinkedIn profile portrait as an extension of your resume; it’s a key component of your online presence. Your online presence is important because it may be the first thing companies see when considering you for a position. For instance, I am a Pittsburgh photographer who was hired by the Neato Agency of Chicago, in conjunction with the Wall Street Journal of New York, to shoot photos at West Virginia University. This was possible because we were all confident in each other’s online credentials.
The event went off without a hitch! I drove down to Morgantown and set up my portable studio in the MountainLair student union building on campus. The Wall Street Journal sponsored the event, offering students a complementary LinkedIn profile picture for anyone who purchased a subscription. It was really fun to meet so many potential professionals who were serious about starting their careers. Best of luck, kids!
