Every now and then I get the opportunity to work with local professionals who need publicity photos for their portfolios. For this shoot, our friend Jake wanted a new actor headshot for casting calls and social media promotion. Jake has a burgeoning acting career, having appeared at South Park Theatre locally. He also recently had a role in an independent movie. With his resume getting a boost, it only makes sense to punch up his actor headshot and portfolio as well! We had a quick, simple shoot in my studio with a few clothing changes and a few different poses.
Whether on the stage or in front of the camera, an headshot is essential for every regular working actor or actress. Directors use them both for putting a face to the audition and for deciding how a person might fit into a prospective role. It’s important to have a recent, professional actor headshot to get work at any level. I had a blast working with Jake, and wish him good lu….. er, break a leg!
